Each session every child makes an art project using a variety of materials. These hands-on experiences improve fine motor development which lead into writing activities such as writing their own names.
Includes the housekeeping corner, "dress up", block building, puzzles, manipulative toys, water play and the corn table.
Includes the indoor slide and climber, riding toys, rocking boat, dancing, crawling tunnel and marching parades. Outdoor playtime as the weather permits.
Clean Up Time
Children learn to help by working together putting away play activities and cleaning tables. This also encourages self-motivation which can be brought back home.
Opening prayer and devotions, counting, Pledge of Allegiance, calendar, weather, number of the month and letter of the week. Children receive turns to be classroom helpers and to present Show and Tell. They gather on the rug to learn about the unit of study, participate in finger plays and group activities.
Sing songs accompanied by guitar, actions or rhythm instruments.
An opportunity for informal discussion between children and teachers while sharing juice and crackers, a birthday treat or the ABC letter of the week snack. The children help set the tables.
The children listen to a story from a book or the flannelgraph, or they may dramatize a story which relates to the learning experience for the day.
